Fats in Food
The food we consume daily contains varying percentages of fats, and the types of fats present in our daily meals also differ. The fats found in meats are not like those in oils or butter; some fats are beneficial to the body, providing energy and are essential, while others can be harmful, leading to serious diseases. Generally, fats can be divided into those that increase bad cholesterol in the blood. Excessive intake of negative fats can lead to heart disease and atherosclerosis, such as saturated fats found in meats and butter. Another type of fat, considered more beneficial, is unsaturated fats, which are abundant in vegetable oils.
Causes of Increased Body Fat
Eating right before sleeping: This is one of the most common reasons, as eating at night leads to the storage of calories in the body, which are then converted into accumulated fats. Addiction to fast food: These foods contain both saturated and unsaturated fats, and consuming them continuously gradually destroys health, as most of the fats in them are stored by the body. Eating in front of the TV: In this case, a person eats without paying attention to the amount consumed.
Effects of Increased Body Fat
It causes many serious diseases such as high cholesterol, atherosclerosis, obesity, and many other conditions. Hydrogenated fats reduce the levels of good cholesterol in the blood and raise bad cholesterol, which is a primary cause of heart artery blockages. Saturated fats decrease milk production in nursing mothers and negatively affect its quality. They also increase the chance of having deformed sperm.
Drinks to Reduce Body Fat
Coffee: Thanks to its high caffeine content, it provides energy for more exercise and stimulates muscles to burn more fats. Green tea: Drinking a substantial amount of green tea can burn approximately 80 calories without exerting any effort. Cinnamon: It lowers blood sugar levels, preventing excess sugar from being stored as fat. Yogurt: Rich in calcium, yogurt plays an essential role in preventing fat formation and has the ability to burn it. Lemon: It effectively speeds up the burning process. Basil: The extract of basil leaves increases the daily burning rate.
